Karen May - Chair
Karen May is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has had 12 years local government experience as a Councillor, Deputy Mayor and Mayor at Sarina Shire Council and Councillor at Mackay Regional Council. Karen currently holds positions on the Mackay Chamber of Commerce, Sarina Bendigo Bank Community Board, Sarina Rural Skill Centre Board, Sarina RSL Management Committee and the Sarina Arts Extravaganza Committee.
Ash-Lee Johnson - Director
Ash-Lee is dedicated to fostering community-centered growth and sustainability. With a background in Local Government finance and economic development, she strives to build strong relationships and drive impactful results for our region. Through her leadership on various volunteer community committees, Ash-Lee drives projects that enrich our community and promote comprehensive regional growth and liveability.
Carol Norris - Director
Carol has lived in Mackay since 2007 and has developed a strong affection for the region. She has a solid business background and tertiary qualifications in business management, public relations, and change management. She currently serves as the CEO of Greater Whitsunday Communities, an important social development organisation supporting the Mackay, Isaac, and Whitsundays areas. Carol is dedicated to enhancing the livability of the Greater Whitsunday Region and believes that fostering strong and thriving communities is essential for driving the region's socio-economic growth.
Charles Northcote - Director
Charles brings over 25 years’ of senior leadership experience across a broad range of industries and countries including growing two organisations into global companies with sales exceeding a billion dollars. As the Chief Financial Officer at Mission Australia Housing, Charles was part of a team that grew the property portfolio to nearly 2,000 homes in three years. Other achievements include developing proactive corporate partnerships and building strong business systems necessary to support an organisation that was growing rapidly.
Additionally, Charles worked directly with the Registrar, NSW Housing, to establish the compliance framework for community housing provider registration. Charles is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Association of Corporate Treasurers UK, with a Bachelor of Commerce and an MBA from Warwick University.
Tony Waters - Director
Tony has extensive experience in developing and implementing social housing and homelessness policy and programs. He retired in 2013 from his role as Deputy Director-General General, Housing Services in the Queensland Department of Housing and Public Works. He also served as a Non-executive Director of BlueCHP Limited from 2016 to 2023.
