Over the past 3+ years, Mackay Regional Housing Company (trading as Connect Housing Group) has been working with BlueCHP Limited to achieve an integration. 

We are very pleased to confirm the integration between CHG and BlueCHP commenced late March 2024 – we note the integration is neither merger or acquisition, rather it is a process that enables BlueCHP to adopt a majority shareholding position in CHG, while preserving local shareholding by Mackay Regional Council and Greater Whitsunday Communities.

The outcome of the integration is CHG can now access significant capability and capacity for growth through BlueCHP’s expertise, while preserving and enhancing the existing staffing and resources on the ground in Mackay. In fact, there is now the ambition to significantly contribute to the growth in social, affordable and disability housing across the Greater Whitsunday region. 

The integration has been supercharged by the successful transfer to CHG of Mackay Regional Councils interests in 76 social housing properties jointly held with the QLD Department of Housing – this transfer was initially envisaged at the establishment of the company and has taken more than a decade to finalise!
